We were blessed to hear from our prophet and apostles within the last week! We are blessed to have living prophets among us today.
Elder Haynie, in last week’s conference, reminded us, “The doctrine and principles that we must follow to survive spiritually and endure physically are found in the words of a living prophet. That is why President M. Russell Ballard declared that ‘it is no small thing … to have a prophet of God in our midst.’”
President Russell M. Nelson has testified that “God’s long-established pattern of teaching His children through prophets assures us that He will bless each prophet and that He will bless those who heed prophetic counsel.” So the key is to follow the living prophet.
As we continue to strive for Christ-centered homes and increase our temple worship in order to better hear and be guided by our Savior through His spirit in order to overcome the world we can be assured our Prophet can guide us in our efforts. To help us, our Prophet has challenged us to be peacemakers. “You have your agency to choose contention or reconciliation. I urge you to choose to be a peacemaker, now and always….My dear brothers and sisters, how we treat each other really matters! How we speak to and about others at home, at church, at work, and online really matters. Today, I am asking us to interact with others in a higher, holier way. Please listen carefully. ‘If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy’ that we can say about another person—whether to his face or behind her back—that should be our standard of communication.”
“The Savior’s message is clear: His true disciples build, lift, encourage, persuade, and inspire—no matter how difficult the situation. True disciples of Jesus Christ are peacemakers.” – President Nelson
May we find the joy, peace, and comfort that comes from the spirit as we strive to be a peacemaker in our homes, work, or wherever we may be is our hope.
