This year we have the privilege of studying the Book of Mormon as part of our Come Follow Me curriculum. Joseph Smith declared; “The Book of Mormon is the Most correct book on the earth and a man can get closer to God by reading from it than any other book”. He also stated that it is the “Keystone” of our religion. President Russell M. Nelson in his conference address in October 2017 said that if we prayerfully study the Book of Mormon daily, we will make better decisions every day. He also promised that as we ponder what we study, the windows of heaven will open, and we will receive answers to our own questions and direction for our own lives. We can even be immunized against the evils of the day.
My dear brothers and sisters, the Book of Mormon truly is a gift from God. Many have sacrificed much to bring us this book. It truly is another witness of Jesus Christ. It contains His doctrine. It tells us of Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness for each one of His sons and daughters. And it culminates with Christ’s visit to the America’s, his other sheep, testifying that he is the Christ, the Son of God, and the Savior and Redeemer of ALL God’s children.
I testify that the Book of Mormon contains God’s word and leads us to Christ. I encourage all of us to prayerfully study from its pages and apply its teachings to our own lives. May the Lord bless you as you strive to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ by prayerfully studying the Book of Mormon daily.
