Christ is the Center

Over four years ago the leadership of the Church introduced the Come, Follow Me – For Individuals and Families scripture study program. We are now in the second cycle of that program. As part of that introduction, the primary responsibility for gospel instruction shifted to us and our homes. The Church then took on a supporting role in gospel learning. The questions in Sunday School or Primary could or should be, “What did you learn at home this week?” Or maybe, “What did the Spirit teach you this week?”

The purpose given in the study guide states the following: “The aim of all gospel learning and teaching is to deepen our conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and help us to become more like Them. For this reason, when we study the gospel . . . we want to become a “new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17) This means relying on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to help us change our hearts, our views, our actions, and our very thoughts.”

I promise that as you seriously embrace the Come, Follow Me – For Individuals and Families program, the Lord will bless you, your family, and your home. You will become closer to your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I promise that you will hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit and receive inspiration for your life. Finally, as you read of Christ and speak of Christ in your homes, Jesus Christ will become the center of your home and your heart.

Love, President Timpson
